I am a HUGE fan of wool. Thrifting blankets from thrift stores is the way to go. Save $$ It's a treasure hunt every time and you get lots of different ones always at a great price! Subbed.💯👍
I have a truck tent. Its such a nice thing to have.

If sofas and comfy chairs are your predominant concern SHTF then by golly TELL ME WHAT STATE YOU’RE IN. I’ll move tomorrow
Brother I commend you for taking time to share your humanity with others who are less prepared or preparedness minded. However IMO the economic collapse that we face will so debilitate society, our two primary tools will likely be an AR and the best running shoes we can buy. God bless. Keep on keepin on.
Very cool. I know people who dont cook for their kids & youre cooking for your dog. Does cooking your own save money?
You could find ways to make it cheaper and save money, and I try to buy whatever is on sale. However, for us, it works out to be the same as what we were spending on kibble.
@newageselfreliance Neat. Same price for alot better food.
Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
I agree with ya on this vid i have so many tools and some do a few jobs and some do just one or two jobs but having the right tool and the experience how to use it is a huge advantage also knowing what tool ya need helps a lot as well
I thought ss bottles were all 300 series ss, which be rustproof. Hearing that you had one rust i concerning. Makes me wonder how inert the ss really is.
There are different types of 300 Stainless Steel. So 316 is more "rustproof" than something like a 304. All metal can rust if not taken care of. Putting any SS container away wet can lead to not-so-desirable outcomes. You also have to take into consideration what the weld is made of. If it's one pressed piece it is all the same metal. However, if two halves are welded together, the weld could lead to rusting or pitting. All in all, if you buy a quality container and take good care of it, it should last a lifetime.
@newageselfreliance My concern was more about health. I'm looking to get away from plastics. Stainless would seem like a safe option because if it doesn't react to the environment (water) , then it stands to reason that none of the metal is goo g down the gullet. But if it's rusting, that would indicate that possibly some of the metal will be consumed. Either way, I do appreciate your response. This was the first vid of yours I had watched and it was very good. Look forward to checking out more of your stuff.
@@ronfox5519 When you drink from a metal container you do taste the metal. I don't know if that means I'm drinking metal, but it does mean that there is something about the metal that is making the water taste different.
You say "I can't get the medication" as if it's an excuse. Get the medication.
How do you get prescription pain kills and narcotics???
@@newageselfreliance All sorts of places, growing, synthesis, black market, lesser known grey market sources like unwashed poppy seeds.
@@newageselfreliance But to be honest, narcotics, although helpful for painful situations, are not strictly necessary for survival and there are substitutes like weed, alcohol, and other pain killers, so, probably best to stay away if possible
So I have this solar panel but I don't have the adaptor cable and I was wondering where I could buy a replacement if you knew
I'm not sure what connector you are asking about? Here are some affiliate links but just so you know I have zero experience with either of these products. I suppose the best way I could help is by telling you the names of everything so you can research what you need. The male and female connectors are called MC4 connectors. The red and black connectors are called Anderson Connectors. There are different sizes of Anderson Connectors, they use Anderson Connectors on Forklifts and Heavy Machinery. However, if you look up Solar Panel Anderson Connectors you should find what you are looking for. Here are the links I promised earlier. They don't have many reviews but it's the best I can do. Had this knife for years and couldn’t work the mourning system fully, your video helped immensely. Cheers bro
I'm really glad I could help.
this is awesome
Thank You I really appreciate the support.
The DeWalt screwdriver in that style is really good! I have the gyrospotic model and really like it. It's model DCF680N1
I will have to look into that one. I appreciate you giving the part number so I can actually look up what you are talking about.
🎉 Drill your own drain holes on the other side of the lid. Great review😊
That would work. I like to show products as is so people watching know exactly what they are spending their money on.
🎉Great review. Very detailed
Thank You.
For Handel idea use an old water hose over the wire
I might have to try that. Right now I'm using a piece of white Pex. It works well but the softer water hose might work even better.
💚🙏🏻🇬🇧
🙏👍😀
I have a black and decker drill like that but it dont have variable speed ive used it on lots of stuff.. by the way who makes that little green bugger anyways ?
Ryobi makes all of these tools. Project Farm actually has a video where he tests a bunch of cordless screwdrivers and the Ryobi is the worst one he tests. I wish I would have seen that before I get these.
Nice
Thanks
A lot of utilities going to digital meter and shut offs now a days so you don’t pay a bill night night the next day it no workie
It has a digital shut-off that just automatically shuts off power, or does a person still have to physically shut the power off? I'm not a big fan of the idea that a computer is making that decision. If someone hacked into the system everyone could be without power for no reason at all.

Just got two new puppies so my algorithm needs to be recalibrated
One puppy was more than enough work for me. I can't imagine training two at time. What kind of dogs did you get?
I don't have a vehicle :(
Get a big backpack and a bicycle. You can carry everything you need and more in a backpack. The same thing will hold true though. You will carry more than you need in your backpack and as you get more and more comfortable your backpack will get lighter and lighter as you start to leave more and more at home.
💚🙏🏻🇬🇧
Good to see you again. 👍🙏
Yes. Still a beginner. Get a mentor
I feel like I will always be a beginner. There is so much to learn.
Im a tool nut myself and i have lots of them always on the hunt for more of them and then learn the skills on how they work and skills what i need to fix and hope i can do the job correctly
Doing the job correctly is the hardest part. I've learned to slow down and make sure I'm doing things correctly and not just the way that works. I find that the proper way lasts longer and turns out to be less work in the long run.
...bucking spikes...
This has aluminum bucking spikes. They do work pretty well.
I know; but I believe in your video you were having difficulty coming up with the correct term for them. Just trying to be helpful.
@@John-cj3ve I can use all the help I can get. Thank You.
02:07 the best ! Thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
As we know an honest mechanic is rare these days and if ya can fix it yourself at least know what's going on so ya don't get scammed i hate it when I get suckered cause I do t have the necessary knowalge
It's getting harder and harder because fewer people are getting into the trades and fewer people are fixing things themselves. The amount of business is going WAY up and the amount of employees is going WAY down. I really wonder what is going to happen 20 years from now when all the good trade employees retire?
Drill ur iwn holes in the one lid u said
It's to hook up for ur belt
That would work. Do you think it would get to heavy for a belt?
id pick cast iron!
Hey great to see your back💚🙏🏻🇬🇧
Been there done that ! It seems that when stuff quits its all at once or a chain of events and dealing with the issues will eat a lot of daylite and time to get everything done and back on track myself im trying to get my lawn mower up and running its 20 yrs old and they don't make it anymore parts are impossible to find and a new one is very expensive so no worries ive been in your shoes and still are take care see ya in the next one
Parts are the worst. You would think that by now everything would be universal. Why does Every Single Thing need completely different parts? I was going to keep some of the parts off my old dishwasher for the new one. Other than the hoses, not a single other part was the same. They are two completely different machines that do exactly the same thing. It drives me crazy.
I very rarely use vanilla extract so buying a bottle from the store keeps at least 2 yrs 😂
I have both books, and I generally agree with your assessment. The Survival Medicine Handbook is much better suited to a post-disaster scenario where "professional" medical care isn't likely to be available, particularly for the long-term. It also provides information on water purification and some rudimentary info on naturalistic medicinal substitutes for many afflictions.
Do you think Where There Is No Doctor is worth having or do you think just having The Survival Medicine Handbook is good enough?
@@newageselfreliance WTIND seems geared more for starting a clinic in a foreign (i.e., more equatorial) country with a very uneducated populace, and is now somewhat dated (I have the 3rd printing from 1996), but still has lots of useful info. Both are comprehensive and useful to the average person, but if I had to choose, I would go with TSMH.
Wow dude know way
Avoid titanium for cooking. Terrible conductivity.
It works well for boiling water and making soups.
Will the sheath clip rust? stainless?
It is a stainless steel belt clip.
As far as screwdriver sets go, the iFixIt kit is amazing, especially for small electronics and glasses.
I really like the work Ifixit does with Right to Repair. I really like the Klien set but I might also buy the Ifixit just to help support the cause.
I really think that your idea with the note pad is a super good idea ive got brand new ones on my book shelf and ive never thought about using them for that and ive got tools up the wazoo in both power and hand tools ive got tool bags and buckets to make them portable and big tool boxes in my garage for storage servers good ideas presented thanx for sharing
That red notebook has saved me hours of not having to figure out the same things over and over again. Just having the breaker number for each outlet and light fixture has saved me tons of time and frustration. It's a good idea for everyone to keep records of things.
Duct tape and zip ties plus strong hemp twine have been lifesavers for me too along with a folding saw doing gardening to make trellises for beans, melons and cucumbers. I cut poles from forest saplings, dig a deep hole to anchor them in, then weave a trellis between them with the strong weatherproof twine. I use the tape and zip ties to add more saplings or branches to the structure to strengthen/expand it if needed as it ages because high winds can collapse them. And lots of buckets and containers are crucial. In fact, a bucket filled with soil with a pole in it is a makeshift green beans or cucumber garden that can be moved. A series of these in a row and you can have a cucumber garden with a trellis on a porch.
How do you protect your garden from rabbits and insects? We lose so much of what we grow to the wildlife in the area. We even have birds pull the seeds we plant right out of the ground after we plant them. We have 6 raised beds that are about 12 inches high.
A smaller miner`s pick (I think mine is 18 inches) has been very useful for me for planting fruit trees in hard rocky soil and removing invasive plants with deep tap roots and it doubles as a great weapon. Another thing to mention for those who can`t have firearms are crossbows and PCP airguns. Another useful thing is a cheap weather station if you grow food in a garden or need to wirelessly monitor the temperature inside a greenhouse. Get one with a barometer to monitor pressure changes.
I have this and it’s my favourite ❤
It is a really good book.
Hey man I’m looking to get into solo camping but I don’t know what gear to pick up. And I want the best bang for my buck so I was wondering if you’d be able to make a video based on camping gear and supplies, and what you’d recommend, thanks brotha 🤙
My issue is that a lot of my favorite gear isn't made anymore. They don't make the tent I use anymore. They don't make the chair I use anymore. I could make a video going over what you will need but I won't be able to go into specific name-brand gear.
nice hoodie
Thanks. It's an old hoodie I got from Wal-Mart. I like it because it was affordable.
Hey man, did you put stuff inside the handle yet? I got fishing line, hooks, matches & striking pads inside mine. That's the only thing holding me back from upgrading my scales really because I do like the knife connection's custom g10, scales but they're not hollow and they do add a little bit of weight to the knife and they're a bit pricey since I live in Canada. Oh I just realized you already got micarta scales on yours! The only reason I would get custom scales is to have the color match with my kydex, and I like liners on my scales too. Desicions, decisions!
filling the hollow parts in the handle scales is a great way to always have what you need. I like the Micarta handle scales though. They feel better in the hand and don't get slippery when wet. My sheath also holds a lot of gear so as long as I have my knife on my hip I should be fine.
Hi do you consider this book to be basic or is it geared towards more advanced prepper/enthusiast?
It has a lot of information in it. It's more of a book that helps people think about the importance of prepping more than prepping itself. I think people just getting started will find it very helpful. I also think advanced preppers will find subjects in this book they haven't thought of before.
Love the accent. What part of Fargo are you from? The butterfly handles will lock together forming a single solid handle. Ooftah! Large cans of Campbell's soup make perfect nesting cups for the water bottle or a Grayl waterfilter. Still fits in the pouch.
I'm actually from Minnesota, but we talk basically the same as the people from Fargo. Using a soup can is a great idea. I have never thought about that before.
Excellent Presentation ! Thank You For Sharing Your Ideas. I Enjoy Your Channel Content.
I appreciate that!
